Fabrizio Romano: Vitaliy Mykolenko undergoing Everton medical

Dynamo Kyiv defender Vitaliy Mykolenko is undergoing a medical at Everton ahead of a multi-million move, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Writing via his personal Twitter profile on Friday morning, the Italian journalist has shared a major update on the 22-year-old Ukraine star.

He wrote: “Ukraine left back Vitaliy Mykolenko is currently undergoing his medical as new Everton player, here we go! He’s set to join Everton from Dynamo Kyiv on a permanent move, final price around €21/23million (£17.9-19.6million). Personal terms agreed.”

Here we go

Everton look to be on the brink of completing this one, and Blues should be excited about signing Mykolenko.

He started for Ukraine in their European Championship quarter-final against England during the summer and played five times in Dynamo Kyiv’s Champions League campaign this season and, at 22, has plenty of room to develop.

Bringing him in is a big mid-season boost to the Blues who are in desperate need of reinforcements.

A spate of injuries have disrupted their season and Rafa Benitez needs new players to get them out of their current rut.

They’ve won just once in their last 11 games and getting a deal done early for Mykolenko should mean he can play from the off in January.

Niels Nkounkou leaving Everton for Standard Liege on loan left Benitez with only Lucas Digne at left-back.

In other Everton news, the Blues are plotting a bid for this Dutch sensation ripping up a European league.
