Everton waiting on paperwork to seal Vitaliy Mykolenko – report

Everton are already closing in on their first major signing of the upcoming January transfer window.

The Toffees look set to complete the £17million arrival of Dynamo Kyiv left-back Vitaliy Mkyolenko in the coming days.

The Mirror has reported that Everton are only waiting on the paperwork before the deal can be made official and then announced at the start of January.

Everton are making their moves early ahead of January, with a new plan looking set in place before the window.

It looks as though the exit of Marcel Brands and numerous backroom staff haven’t affected ongoing too badly at Goodison Park.

Rafa Benitez has been backed by the board on the pitch amid a recent crisis in the Premier League, and now they are doing the same off it, too.

Given the Financial Fair Play rules are tight around the club this season, this is a real vote of confidence in the Spaniard.

Necessity.

With Benitez confirming a rift with Lucas Digne at Goodison Park, a move for a new left-back simply had to happen in January.

Thankfully, the club hasn’t been twiddling their thumbs, and have moved quickly to get everything in place to confirm and announce this one at the earliest chance at the start of next month.

Mykolenko is said to be in the country already, and that means he will be raring to get stuck into things at Goodison Park.

It is also suggested that Leicester and Newcastle are interested in a move for Digne, and selling him on looks to be the best solution for all parties at this stage.

Should the Toffees be able to recoup the £18million they spent on the Frenchman, it would completely cover what looks to be spent on Mykolenko.
