Lucy Ward stunned by Everton stopper Jordan Pickford v Chelsea on BT Sports

Lucy Ward was left stunned by Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford this evening in the Premier League clash against Chelsea.

An injury-ravaged Toffees squad stayed compact at Stamford Bridge, but the home side did manage to carve open some chances.

Thankfully, Pickford was in brilliant form and he left with an extra fan with Ward watching on live-on-air in the capital.

Speaking live on BT Sports live coverage of the game this evening, Ward was stunned by the resistance of Pickford.

“Jordan Pickford with a terrific save,” she said.

“He’s been brilliant – Pickford was equal to it.”

Pickford must be starting to feel lonely in this Everton side as his fellow senior players are dropping like flies around him.

There were numerous youngsters on the park in the capital this evening, but the stopper was also labelled the Toffees’ “best player” by Ward.

With the defence changing around him, there was bound to be chances handed the way of Chelsea, but the England international stayed tall and strong.

Pickford has been no stranger to criticism during his time at Goodison Park, and he deserves praise when it is handed out.

He was pivotal to keep the scores close and made pivotal saves after we fired in the equaliser – a strong contender for the Man of the Match.
