Kevin Campbell reacts to major Dominic Calvert-Lewin boost for Everton
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell has admitted the imminent return of Dominic Calvert-Lewin is going to be “huge” for Everton this season.
The former Toffees talisman insisted that the England international is the “key” for the Blues in the Premier League.
Calvert-Lewin admitted he was aiming to return on Boxing Day against Burnley, but now that has been postponed, he has more time to get ready.

“I think it’s huge,” he said exclusively to Goodison News.
“I think Richarlison has done pretty well up there when he’s played, I look at the team’s struggles without them two as a tandem.
“To get Calvert-Lewin back is going to be a major boost for the team. I think it’s important Everton need their best players out there on the pitch.
“It’s going to take him a little while, maybe, to get going, but you never know, you get good deliveries into him and he’s a threat.
“He’s the key for Rafa Benitez and Everton.”

Huge.
This is the news that everyone has been waiting for.
Richarlison has done enough of carrying the weight of the club on his shoulders for the past couple of months – something that was most evident when he never stopped running against Arsenal.
Calvert-Lewin clearly had a more serious blow than first expected, and it is right that he is 100% before returning.
Bringing him back too early and eager could aggravate the injury again, and that is the last thing we need.
With our next game unlikely to be until New Years, that could be the day we finally get to see Calvert-Lewin back in action – bring it on.
