Nathan Broadhead ruled out for at least three months with hamstring injury
Everton loanee Nathan Broadhead has been ruled out for at least three months with a hamstring injury, with Lee Johnson admitting he could miss the rest of the season.
The 23-year-old is currently on a season-long loan deal at Sunderland, scoring seven goals in 15 appearances for the League One side so far.
His most recent strike came against Arsenal in the League Cup quarter-final defeat at the Emirates, where he also picked up a ‘disaster’ hamstring injury in the same game.

It’s now been revealed by Sunderland boss Lee Johnson that the injury is a ‘bad one’ and the striker will miss at least three months of action, but admitted he could miss the rest of the season.
“It’s a bad one for Nathan,” he said.
“I would say it will be a minimum of three months, but it could be the season.”
Cruel
It’s a cruel blow for the young striker, who had scored six times in his last six appearances for the club before the injury.
He was looking to make a name for himself this season and after watching a bunch of academy stars make a breakthrough under Rafael Benitez, he would’ve fancied his chances at continuing his good form and then breaking into the side next year.

Unfortunately for him, this is likely to put a big downer on his career at Goodison Park.
Without being able to get regular minutes, this will only delay his development and already 23-years-old the likelihood is that his window to make it as a Toffee has now passed.
He should now focus on getting fit again and, if possible, ending the season strongly before potentially moving on to pastures new next year for a fresh start.
