Cenk Tosun has ‘reached agreement’ to leave Everton – report
Everton striker Cenk Tosun has “reached an agreement” with Besiktas to join the club in the January transfer window, according to Turkish outlet Sabah.
Tosun joined the Toffees back in January 2018 but has never really adjusted to the Premier League and has struggled for game time since the departure of Sam Allardyce as manager that summer.
With his contract set to expire in the summer, it now seems as though the Turkish international striker has made the decision to leave and return to his homeland.

According to Sabah, Tosun has ‘reached an agreement’ with Besiktas over a loan move for the remainder of the season before signing a long-term deal with the club once his contract expires in the summer.
The only thing missing is an agreement between the two clubs, with Besiktas unwilling to pay a big loan fee to keep costs low, while Everton are likely to demand a fee to essentially let him leave six months early.
No harm done
The impending departure of the 30-year-old isn’t really a big deal at Goodison Park, with the striker way down the pecking order under Benitez.
Tosun has featured for just six minutes so far this season, coming on as a substitute in the 4-1 defeat to Liverpool and was even left out of the team against Chelsea when there were 12 first-teamers unavailable.

With that many people ahead of him in the pecking order, the Toffees would be better off letting him leave in the summer since they have interest and getting his wages off the books once and for all.
It would give the likes of Lewis Dobbins and Ellis Simms the chance to get added minutes under their belt for the first-team if required and would also free up some wages for any other January incomings.
It was a £27m deal that completely flopped and is another sign of spending big not necessarily being a good thing all the time. Tosun will be quickly forgotten once he leaves, if he hasn’t been forgotten already.
