Alan Myers expects more Everton signings after Vitaliy Mykolenko confirmation

Everton have confirmed the signing of Ukraine defender Vitaliy Mykolenko from Dynamo Kiev on Saturday.

The 22-year-old joined the Toffees on a four-and-a-half-year deal, and becomes the first January signing for Rafa Benitez.

Primarily a left-back, Mykolenko is a regular player for Dynamo and was a key part of the Ukraine team that reached the quarter-finals of Euro 2020.

Sky Sports journalist Alan Myers has hinted on Twitter that Everton could do more signings this month. He wrote: “One down”.

When asked how many signings he expects the Toffees to make, he replied: “probably 2-3”, while he expects more departures as well.

More signings?

Rafa Benitez revealed yesterday (31 December) that he wants to bring two or three players in January, and the Spaniard seemed pretty confident.

Everton wasted no time in bolstering their squad in January, and the Toffees could bring in one or two more players before the end of this month.

Mykolenko has had an impressive career so far, and his arrival could pave the way for Lucas Digne’s potential departure.

Everton could potentially look to bring in another full-back this month, with the club being heavily linked with a move for Rangers defender Nathan Patterson [The Guardian].

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has returned from injuries, but Benitez needs another striker to complement him. The Toffees are lacking in depth in that area.

There are a few players who could leave this month. Cenk Tosun has barely featured and he could end his nightmare spell at Merseyside by moving elsewhere, preferably to Turkey.
