Vitaly Mykolenko arrival pushes Lucas Digne towards Everton exit door

Today’s signing of Ukrainian left back Vitaly Mykolenko could see another Everton star head out of Goodison Park.

Lucas Digne has been touted to leave Merseyside with Chelsea and Inter Milan both interested in the Frenchman.

With his replacement seemingly through the door already, you could be forgiven for thinking he is being pushed out of the door, rather than going of his own accord.

His fallout with Toffees manager Rafael Benitez has been widely covered and his absence from the squad in recent weeks seems to have confirmed his imminent exit from the club.

Digne has the ability to play for most sides across Europe and at his best, he is still one of Everton’s best players.

But a player’s ability will only take him so far and Everton will be better off without Digne hanging around the club and potentially disrupting the squad further.

The last thing Everton need at this time is anything that will take their attention away from the relegation scrap they find themselves in with a drop to the second division being financially damaging for the club before they move into their new Bramley Moore Dock Stadium.

The new ground though could see players of even higher calibre love to Merseyside and under the right management, Everton could go in a similar upward direction as West Ham have since their move to the London Stadium.
