Everton attacker Andros Townsend pushing for quicker return from injury
Everton attacker Andros Townsend is reportedly pushing for a quicker return to the team than expected.
According to the Liverpool Echo, despite his quick return to full fitness, Rafa Benitez is eyeing a January signing in that position.
Thus far, the Toffees have signed two players in this window, with Nathan Patterson and Vitaliy Mykolenko walking through the door.

Good news
The 30-year-old Townsend last featured for Everton against his former side Crystal Palace on December 12.
Palace gave the Toffees bit of a reality check on the day and picked up maximum points by winning 3-1.
Since then, the likes of Anthony Gordon and Alex Iwobi have played a few games, but Rafa Benitez has struggled to pick an established playing XI.
While the exact return date of Townsend is unclear, his fitness will come as a major boost for the club.

Not only is he a joy to watch when he’s on song, but has the ability to terrify defences and single-handedly turn defence into attack.
He can also score the spectacular as his strike against Burnley at the start of the season was billed “world class” by that Owen Hargreaves.
It remains to be seen if Everton still sign a player in Townsend’s position or whether Benitez trusts him enough to deliver once he’s back to full fitness.
