Owen Hargreaves has hailed Andros Townsend's long-range effort for Everton v Burnley on Monday night.

After a slow start to the game, the Toffees came back through Michael Keane's equaliser and then it was time for the Townsend show.

The 30-year-old scored a wonder goal with his left foot and it impressed a number of people inside Goodison Park and also the Premier League Productions' studio.

Speaking during the full-time show, Hargreaves, who's also a BT Sport pundit said, "Fabulous. World-class. Sometimes you just have to hold your hands and say that was absolutely world-class.

"This one will compete for Everton's goal of the season, that's for sure."

Certainly made the headlines

It was a perfect goal from Townsend and everyone who watched it would have a superlative to describe it.

The sheer power, elegance and timing of that finish were second to none and this is what the Englishman is capable of.

It's been a while since he last found the back of the net in the Premier League, but he appears to be playing with a newfound belief for the Toffees now.

He seems hungrier, more willing to get onto the ball and make things happen. There are occasions where he's going to go for the spectacular, as we saw last night and we can't wait to see what else he has to offer this side.

Hopefully, he does not go on another goal-scoring drought as there's something satisfying watching him strike a ball into the back of the net.
