Fabrizio Romano shares Lucas Digne development at Everton
Fabrizio Romano has claimed the ‘next week will be key’ for Lucas Digne’s future with the left back set to leave Everton.
There is interest for the Frenchman from West Ham, Chelsea, Newcastle, Napoli as well as one other unnamed Premier League club according to Sky Sports.
Romano has reported that Newcastle are out of the race with Chelsea yet to make a final decision on the 28-year-old.
“Lucas Digne will leave Everton, never in doubt.” Romano tweeted.
“Three Premier League clubs interested, next week will be key – Chelsea are still waiting to decide on LB situation.
“Again, Digne will not join Newcastle. No way”
Just leave
Digne has already overstayed his welcome since refusing to play for the club. Everton no longer need or want the defender and he doesn’t want to be at the club so the quicker he departs the better.
Understandably the Frenchman wants to move to a respectable club but there is a possibility that doesn’t happen and under no circumstance should he be allowed to rot in the background and pick up a hefty weekly wage.

As far as the Blues are concerned, he could move to Tranmere, as long as he isn’t poisoning the dressing room at Finch Farm with his disgraceful attitude.
At the end of the day, he is the one forcing the move, nobody else. If he had an ounce of respect for Everton there is no way this disagreement goes as far as it has.
There is a silver lining though. Thankfully the Blues have been able to move swiftly in the window to replace the ageing left back which could work out better for Everton in the long run.
They now have a young, ambitious new defender who they might not have signed if Digne didn’t throw his toys out the pram.
