Simon Jordan insists Moshiri has not been a good owner at Everton

Everton have struggled so far this term, sitting 15th in the Premier League table after winning just five out of 18 games, and Simon Jordan blames the owner.

The talkSPORT pundit believes that Farhad Moshiri has not done enough across all areas since taking over at the Goodison Park outfit, claiming live on-air on Thursday (6 January) that the billionaire businessman is clueless.

The Blues have spent around £500million on transfers since their majority shareholder arrived in 2016, with five managers under his reign all failing to impress.

Jordan said: “Let’s really look at it. The whole prism that we look at Everton through isn’t very good. The financial landscape isn’t very good. The team’s success isn’t very good. The management and employment hasn’t been very good. The buying policy hasn’t been very good. The interaction with the fans isn’t very good.

“The only positive thing is the stadium, and you have got to give credit to where it is due – to Moshiri. As much as I admire this man’s financial acumen, when it comes to the business of football, which is a small part of his empire, he is clueless, and it is being replicated in the financial running of this football club.

“You’ve got a disaster on your hands, bringing in managers that the fans don’t want. We’re a sum of all our parts, all the parts that Moshiri has put into place are not good enough.”

True

The former Crystal Palace owner knows all about running a club, and it is safe to say he has not been impressed with what he has seen from Moshiri.

The Everton chief has simply not gotten it right, and it is safe to say the team are not anywhere close to being a European side.

They have wasted a lot of money on players who have failed to perform, and they are now being made to pay for it, with Financial Fair Play preventing them from being able to splash the cash since the last summer transfer window.

Moshiri went against the wishes of the fans by appointing Rafa Benitez, and not many will be able to completely get over that.

The former Liverpool boss has not been able to get his side firing on all cylinders, and that needs to change quickly.

A relegation battle could be on the cards, and Everton will be hoping they can bring in more quality additions this month to stop that from happening.

They have already added Vitaliy Mykolenko and Nathan Patterson to the squad this winter transfer window, but they will need more than two full-backs to get their campaign back on track.
