Everton ‘offered the chance’ to sign Alexis Sanchez for free – report
Everton have been ‘offered the chance’ to sign Inter Milan winger Alexis Sanchez on a free transfer this winter, according to the Daily Mail.
Inter Milan are keen to offload the Chilean winger and his massive wages to free up space in their squad and it’s believed that the Toffees could look to bring him in to bolster their attacking options.
Now the Daily Mail say that the club have been offered the chance to sign him on a free transfer this winter and they are considering it.

With Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison linked with transfers away from the club in the future, this would be a way to lessen the impact of their departures although it’s possible it wouldn’t be the most popular deal.
Sanchez has scored just 14 goals in 86 appearances since returning to Serie A on loan in August 2019.
Stick or twist
This is a deal that’s very interesting on paper and could go one of two ways.
Sanchez at his best was undoubtedly one of the best forwards in the world and was dubbed as ‘sensational‘ by Gary Lineker once upon a time.
But ever since leaving Arsenal where he scored 80 goals in 166 games, he has done a total 180 and has been a shadow of himself.

Many now remember him for his torrid spell at Manchester United and Everton fans are unlikely to see a 33-year-old player who is clearly past his best as a marquee, statement signing.
His quality is undeniable though and if Benitez can get him back on the right track, then it’s possible that he could be the difference between earning points and not in some games.
Currently in 15th place and closer to relegation than European places, Everton could do with a boost and a new attacking signing could be the spark to turn their season around that.
