Jamie Carragher sends tweet as Everton concede early goal to Hull City

Jamie Carragher shared an instant reaction as Everton conceded a first minute goal against Hull City in the FA Cup on Saturday (January 8).

Tyler Smith opened the scoring for the hosts despite the Toffees starting the game.

Everton did score two goals to go into the break in the lead, but Carragher did not waste any time in taking a dig at them.

He said, via his personal Twitter account, “Wow! 1-0 down after your own kick off.”

Awful start

The Toffees will likely go on to win this game so not much will be said about how badly they started the game.

So many players looked like they were on vacation and did not even realise that Hull are coming at them full steam ahead.

Smith capitalised on a collective lapse in concentration and Rafa Benitez would have been fuming with some of his players.

However, after going down, they suddenly appeared a rejuvenated side and string some passes together to get things going.

Demarai Gray scored in the 21st minute and Andre Gomes put the visitors in the lead ten minutes later.

Despite dominating possession, Hull have had more chances on goal and have registered more shots on target as well.

Things have got to improve in the second half and we expect Benitez to ring in a change or two at the break.
