View: Mykolenko and Patterson start - Hull City v Everton predicted XI

Everton travel to the MKM Stadium to face Hull City in the third round of the FA Cup today (January 8).

It is a must win game for manager Rafa Benitez with the Blues only winning one of their last 12.

To prevent the atmosphere worsening at Everton, Benitez needs to field a strong team to ensure a positive result.

Here is the Toffees predicted starting 11 for today’s game.

Changes

The main talking point is two debuts for Nathan Patterson and Vitaliy Mykolenko respectively. A cup game against lower league opposition is the perfect place for the pair to find their feet for the Toffees.

It is important the pair get up to speed as quickly as possible at Finch Farm with serious question marks surrounding their backups.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is not expected to be risked in the cup with his presence needed in the Premier League and rightly so with his goals, assists and hold up play crucial for the team.

This opens the door for Salomon Rondon to have a rare start up front for the Blues.

Andre Gomes also comes in for Allan with Everton expected to have much more of the ball against the Championship team.

A cameo in the team allows the former Barcelona man to regain having only made nine appearances in all competitions this season.

The Blues need to win this game and a run in the FA Cup could be the perfect catalyst to turn Everton’s form around.

The competition is also the Blues last realistic chance of winning a trophy this season – something the fans are desperate for.
