Lucas Digne could leave Everton for Aston Villa after Philippe Coutinho signing
Phillipe Coutinho’s arrival at Aston Villa could tempt Lucas Digne into leaving Everton for a move to the Birmingham-based club.
That’s according to talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook, who claims that the Brazilian’s acquisition could be a major deciding factor for the France international.
Given Digne’s fractious relationship with Rafa Benitez and the signing of Vitaliy Mykolenko, he seems to have played his last game for the club.

Speaking on talkSPORT on January 8, Crook said, “They want a left-back as well. And I’m told they’re one of a growing number of clubs tracking Everton’s Lucas Digne, who we seem to have spoken about every day this week.
“At the moment, his preference appears to be London, but just maybe, the arrival of a stellar name like Coutinho might convince Lucas Digne that maybe Aston Villa is an attractive proposition.”
Cash in
It’s disappointing to lose a player of Digne’s calibre and it would not have happened under any other manager.
However, Benitez has not taken well to the full-back questioning his tactics and that’s made his time at the club untenable.
Villa are among the clubs keen on Digne, but there’s also interest from Chelsea, who are in a position to pay big money for him.

Despite him wanting to leave, Everton hold an upper hand in terms of his sale.
Given the growing interest in his services, the Toffees could be smart and spark a bidding war for the France international.
This could see them recoup more than what they paid for his replacement and that money then could be reinvested in the squad to make them ready for a top-half finish.
