Lucas Digne accepts Aston Villa personal terms ahead of Everton exit

Everton player Lucas Digne has accepted personal terms with Aston Villa, according to talkSPORT.

The radio station has reported that the Frenchman is ready to sign a long-term contract at Villa Park ahead of the major January move.

It is now suggested that Steven Gerrard’s side are now “hopeful” of completing a £25million swoop for Digne this month.

Writing on their official Twitter account, talkSPORT shared the latest on the deal which now looks set to go through.

“Breaking: Lucas Digne has accepted personal terms from Aston Villa and is ready to sign a long-term contract,” they wrote.

“Villa are hopeful of completing a £25m swoop. – talkSPORT sources understand.”

It’s happening.

This comes as no shock, and it looks as though it should happen imminently.

Digne has not wanted to be at Goodison Park for more than a month now, and he is finally set to get that wish this week.

Aston Villa are in a similar position, but the difference is they can splash the cash and have a ready-made project under Steven Gerrard, something that isn’t clear under Rafa Benitez.

The Frenchman leaving for this big fee at least gives the Toffees profit and will ease their financial issues moving forward.

Now, all eyes are on Vitality Mykolenko to make a difference and really catch the eye as he looks to replace the outgoing Digne – it won’t be easy.
