Alan Myers: Everton not looking for swap deals for Lucas Digne
Alan Myers claims that Everton are not looking for any kind of swap deals regardless of where Lucas Digne goes.
The French left-back is on his way out of Goodison Park and the Toffees are not done with their January transfer business yet, at least in terms of incomings.
However, they won’t be looking to include Digne in any possible transfer as they’re only looking for the money they can recoup from his sale.
Myers, the Sky Sports news editor wrote, via his personal Twitter account, “My understanding is Everton are not interested in any player plus deal for Digne, wherever he ends up, they want a straight sale.”
Keep all options open
Myers claims that Everton are clearly ruling out any potential swap which should not be the case.
Say if they want to sign John McGinn from Aston Villa and Digne is closing in on a move there, signing the midfielder would become a lot easier.
While their general understanding is the money, those funds are once again going to be put in to either sign a central midfielder, winger, or even both this month.
The earlier Digne is out the better as it will free up funds for the club to strengthen in other positions.

Rafa Benitez wasn’t dealt a very good hand in the summer, but he will have no excuses after this transfer window.
The club have got rid of Marcel Brands and Farhad Moshiri appears to unequivocally be backing the Spaniard so it’s about time that the trust pays off.
In other Everton news, the club want to sign a player labelled ‘Excellent’ by Cristiano Ronaldo with the European club keen on cashing in.
