Anthony Gordon wanted by Bundesliga giants and Arsenal - report

Everton youngster Anthony Gordon has attracted interest from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig recently, according to scout Ian Duke.

Gordon has emerged as a regular first-team player under Rafa Benitez this season, providing cover in the winger positions behind Demarai Gray and Andros Townsend so far, scoring twice and getting one assist too.

Now it has emerged that the 20-year-old winger has attracted the attention of Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig and Arsenal recently.

That’s according to Everton’s area scout Ian Duke, who was speaking to The Athletic in a lengthy interview about Gordon.

“There were a few German clubs — Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig — and Arsenal sniffing around him a while ago.”

Being subject to interest from clubs such as those mentioned is always a positive thing if you’re a young player and that’s no different for Gordon.

All three have a great and illustrious history of using young players and have the facilities and reputation to have greatly improved Gordon.

However such is their array of talent that he may not have found opportunities to develop on the pitch as forthcoming as they’ve been at Goodison, so it could be a good decision overall.

Gordon’s opportunities at Everton have seen him develop well and his performances are becoming more and more influential as the season goes on. He was even described as ‘excellent‘ during the Carabao Cup game against QPR.

The fans love him, he loves playing for his club and everything is going smoothly from a personal point of view. All he needs now is for the results to turn around so he can enjoy some success.
