Frank Lampard in five-man Everton short-list after Benitez sacking
Everton have sacked Rafa Benitez today (16 January), the club have confirmed.
The Toffees have short-listed six men who could replace him, and Frank Lampard is among them, according to Alan Myers.
The other managers who are expected to be consulted are Duncan Ferguson, Roberto Martinez, Rudi Garcia, and Wayne Rooney.

The Sky Sports journalist tweeted:
Lampard won’t be a bad option
The former Chelsea manager won’t be a bad option for the Toffees.
While the likes of Wayne Rooney and Duncan Ferguson will be favourites among the fans, Lampard would do a fantastic option.
The 43-year-old did a very good job at Derby County and took Chelsea to a top-four finish at a time when they had a transfer embargo.
The British manager hasn’t taken a job elsewhere as he is waiting for the right opportunity and Everton must at least offer him the role.

He has shown great desire to field young talents and has the willingness to work on a shoe-string budget as well.
Lampard was a world-class player and he will command the respect of players in the dressing room.
Instead of going after foreign managers, it’s time to give chances to British managers who will understand the demands of the Premier League.
Appointing Benitez was a blunder, and Everton mustn’t make the same mistake once again.
