Mike Parry fumes as Jose Mourinho is sounded out for Everton job
Mike Parry has been left fuming after hearing that Everton have sounded out AS Roma manager Jose Mourinho for their vacant managerial position.
The Telegraph reports that the three-time Premier League-winning boss is one of those the Toffees have reached out to after parting ways with Rafa Benitez on Sunday.
The former talkSPORT host and one of Everton shareholders was having none of it, though, taking to his personal Twitter account to react.
He said: “I’m assuming this is a joke, but it honestly wouldn’t surprise me.
“Our owner Mr Moshiri seems to have tunnel vision for ex great managers who are now washed up but who are delighted to receive an offer to manage Everton for a million pounds a month.”
Another mistake?
Farhad Moshiri has yet to get in his perfect manager for the job, and with a sixth appointment in six years on the cards, the British-Iranian businessman cannot afford to get it wrong.
A manager like Mourinho is the last thing the Goodison Park outfit need right now.
The former Chelsea boss was sacked in his last three jobs in the Premier League, and he has not particularly fared any better since joining Roma.
While he boasts of some incredible achievements, winning the La Liga, Serie A and Champions League, the former Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Porto boss no longer has what it takes to take clubs to the next level.

That was clear for everyone to see during his ill-fated spells at Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, and Everton will be doing themselves a lot of favours by steering clear.
There are plenty of managers capable of getting the job done, but it does not seem as though Moshiri knows what it takes to get this particular decision right.
His last appointments have proven so, and he simply has to delegate such a task to someone with the know-how when it comes to the business of football.
In other Everton news, the Toffees are plotting January loan-to-buy bid for centre-mid hailed by Jack Grealish last month.
