Duncan Ferguson wields axe with four changes – Predicted Everton starting XI v Aston Villa

Duncan Ferguson has once again been named as interim manager for Everton ahead of their clash against Aston Villa.

The Toffees welcome their Premier League rivals to Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon (22 January).

Rafa Benitez was shown his marching orders last week after defeat at Norwich, with relegation becoming a real possibility.

Jordan Pickford will remain in goal, with his passion and leadership going to be key to get through this rut.

Vitaliy Mykolenko and Ben Godfrey will be the only two to keep their spots in the back four, with change a long time coming.

Seamus Coleman and Michael Keane have not been good enough for months now, and Yerry Mina will come in to replace the latter.

Nathan Patterson will get his first start since arriving from Rangers, with Ferguson knowing exactly what it takes to do just that.

Abdoulaye Doucoure and Andre Gomes will start in midfield, with a lack of options currently in the heart of the side.

Demarai Gray has been shining this season, and so has Andros Townsend, with the winger coming back in for Anthony Gordon out wide.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is crying out for that first goal, with two games passing without hitting the net and missing the penalty.

Richarlison got back on the scoresheet instantly at Norwich with that overhead kick, and he will be rewarded with a start this time around as Ferguson wields the axe.

Here’s how we expect the Toffees to lineup…
