View: Latest Azmoun development should end Everton interest
Zenit St. Petersburg attacker Sardar Azmoun has been the subject of a £10million bid from Burnley which should see them beat Everton to the Iranian.
90Min originally reported Everton’s interest in the 27-year-old in December but the latest development, reported by the Express on 21 January, suggests they may have missed their chance.
With Azmoun out of contract in the summer, Burnley are set to sign the Iranian on a cut-price deal when Everton could have done with a fresh face in the forward line.

Azmoun isn’t the Russian’s top scorer however with his seven league goals being usurped by Artem Dzyuba’s 10 and matched by Brazilian Claudinho.
So he isn’t overly prolific, he isn’t really young with bags of potential, it is difficult to file this as one that got away.
The managerial upheaval of sacking Rafael Benitez on Sunday certainly hasn’t helped Everton’s transfer business with players unsure if the new manager, whoever it may be, will suit them should they join.

That’s the issue currently facing full-backs Vitaliy Mykolenko and Nathan Patterson who both arrived at Goodison Park while Benitez was still in charge.
The manager’s position needs to be sorted out in rapid time for the club to be able to spend their wealth of money in the transfer market and stay away from relegation.
It is still a real possibility that Everton could be dragged into the battle and defeat at home to Aston Villa on Saturday would be highly detrimental to their chances, especially with Watford and Norwich, the two teams closest to the Toffees, facing off on Friday night.
In other Everton news, Mark Lawrenson has predicted big things for Duncan Ferguson’s first game in charge.
