Confirmed Everton starting XI v Aston Villa

Everton have confirmed their starting XI for the Premier League showdown against Aston Villa this afternoon.

Duncan Ferguson is taking charge of his first game of his latest interim spell at Goodison Park and has made changes.

Confirmed on Twitter prior to kick-off, the Toffees have brought back in the likes of Richarlison and Andros Townsend starting.

Ferguson is guaranteeing that he is picking the players who are going to run themselves into the ground for the side.

The fans will be well up for this one, and this XI has to feed off that and put it into their performances against a tough Villa team.

Richarlison is one of those who epitomises that, and the Brazilian is going to be fighting for every last second while he is on the pitch.

Must win.

This is simply a must-win game.

Norwich winning last night meant that the gap is closing to the bottom three, and this is a predicament that should never have happened in the first place.

One win is all it will take to galvanise this squad and start making their way up the table, and it would be brilliant to get that done today.

Lucas Digne will be returning to Goodison Park, and although he left because of Rafa Benitez, it will still be nice to get one over on someone who decided to leave as soon as it got tough.
