Mike Parry calls for arrested Everton fan to be banned for life

Mike Parry wants the Everton fan who threw a bottle at Lucas Digne and Matty Cash to be banned for life.

Aston Villa registered a 1-0 victory at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon and a fan did not take too well to their players celebrating the winner.

According to the Guardian, the said Everton fan has been arrested and the club have vowed to ban all the perpetrators.

Via his personal Twitter account, Parry wrote, “Disgusting. Ban for life.”

Unacceptable

Fans can hate and boo players all they want but to endanger their safety by throwing objects on the field is unacceptable.

Football has a bad reputation for hooliganism in the 80s and 90s and the game has come a long way from that.

However, incidents like these take away from the progress that has been made and that must be stopped.

It’s a good thing that the police intervened so quickly and made that arrest as that’s the right thing to do.

Banning people for life and imposing heavy fines on them will ensure that they never think of doing such things.

It sets a precedent for anyone who even thinks of it in the future and they will be dissuaded from this.

It also must be said that such fans are only a tiny proportion of the fanbase of the club and associating all supporters with it is absolutely incorrect.

In other Everton news, the club has been urged to make a move for a ‘World-class’ Champions League manager who’s admired by Pep Guardiola & Jurgen Klopp
