Alan Myers says if Christophe Galtier could be next Everton manager
Christophe Galtier will not be the next Everton manager, according to Sky Sports reporter Alan Myers.
Writing via his personal Twitter account on Monday [24 January], Myers said that Galtier, 55, is his choice to become Rafa Benitez’s successor at Goodison Park.
However, Myers admits that a move for the OGC Nice manager “won’t happen”.
Best possible option
Why isn’t Galtier an option?
The Marseille-born boss managed Saint-Etienne for eight years before joining Lille in 2017.
After spending four years building up Lille, he eventually won the Ligue 1 title with them last season, beating Paris Saint-Germain to the French championship.
He joined Nice in the summer and as it stands, they’re second in Ligue 1 and is on a six-match winning streak with them.

Galtier is a manager who, right now, seems to turn everything into gold when he touches it.
He was linked with a move to Goodison in the summer after he left Lille and after Carlo Ancelotti quit the Blues to join Real Madrid.
Lille’s former sporting director Luis Campos said Galtier would be perfect for the Toffees back in June 2021 [Sky Sports].
Campos said: “Christophe has all the qualities to coach in England, technically he is very astute and is extremely detailed in his planning when preparing a team.
“He likes a 4-4-2 system, which would fit with the Premier League and he is a fantastic motivator in the dressing room.
“He likes to build a side with quality and youth, he is someone that can develop a team ethic, and he is also a fantastic human being.”
Everton should be pushing the boat out to hire a manager of this ilk.
But instead, we’re being linked with managers like Fabio Cannavaro.
In other Everton news, the Blues will sink to a new low after this manager was reportedly offered the job at Goodison.
