Arsenal move for Everton ace Calvert-Lewin hinges on Dusan Vlahovic
Arsenal will make a move for Everton attacker Dominic Calvert-Lewin if they failed to land Dusan Vlahovic, according to the Daily Star.
It’s understood that the Fiorentina forward is top of the billionaire-owned club’s priority list, with Calvert-Lewin the backup option.
Should they fail to sign Vlahovic in the summer, they could pursue a move for the England international in the summer and are unlikely to touch base with the Toffees prior to that.
Arsenal have the riches to tempt Calvert-Lewin to leave Goodison Park for a switch to the Emirates.
Given how badly Everton are run, one could not fault the 24-year-old for wanting to leave, if he does decide it to be the best course.
The only way the Toffees can retain him if the Gunners come calling is if they hire a world class manager.
Once he takes the club in the right direction, Calvert-Lewin would have an incentive to stay put.
With Carlo Ancelotti, a lot of quality players were signed and the moment he left, James Rodriguez and Lucas Digne were on their way out.
If a mediocre appointment is made, the England international may not see any reason to stay and would happily move to Arsenal.
Everton fans will be hoping that the Vlahovic move goes through as it would mean Arsenal cooling their interest in Calvert-Lewin.
