“I thought Frank Lampard did well,” he exclusively told Goodison News.

“When you look at the squad that Chelsea have, he was trying to freshen it up and develop the youngsters. A lot of the youngsters that got the opportunities were due to him.

“Maybe it is just a different way, he did a decent job at Derby and was propelled to Chelsea. He didn’t win the trophies, but when Thomas Tuchel got there, he was still in the Champions League.

“He’s very respected, listen, you just don’t know if a different philosophy, it may get the best out of some of these players.”

Lampard hasn’t been in work since his dismissal at Chelsea, although that isn’t for the want of trying.

The former England international is one of those to be instantly linked with any job that appears in the Premier League but has had no success as of yet.

Farhad Moshiri now appears to be going down a different route, though, with Vitor Pereira looking like his man.

Pedro Sepulveda has reported that a full agreement is in place for the Portuguese manager, meaning another job is set to pass Lampard by.
