Everton senior board members fume as Farhad Moshiri talks with Vitor Pereira in Monaco

Senior Everton executives are said to be fuming with Farhad Moshiri over his talks with Vitor Pereira this weekend, according to the Daily Star.

The newspaper reported in their print edition (25/01) that Moshiri sat down with the candidate for discussions in Monaco.

Having now pulled back from those talks, board members at Goodison Park are said to have a strong resistance, given how catastrophic the decision to appoint Rafa Benitez was.

The column went on to finish: “Board and on the senior executive, especially given the disastrous appointment of Rafa Benitez.”

Everton are now said to have pulled away from the “imminent” appointment of Pereira, with common sense appearing to prevail.

It looks as though Moshiri was going to dive in feet first and make the decision without really consulting anyone about it.

Everton

Shocker.

Has Moshiri learnt anything in the past few years? Clearly not.

This just proves that while he may be a good businessman, his football brain continues to lack behind and cause real issues at Goodison Park.

The owner is crying out for an advisor because some of his decisions in recent years have been simply laughable.

On this occasion, we are thankful to those senior board members who decided to stand up and be counted, stopping what could have been a disaster.

Pereira may have won silverware through his career but in countries such as China, Greece and Portugal – where you are expected to do just that.

Hopefully, Moshiri can listen to his board members more often, and they can help make the right decision to take the Toffees forward, not back.
