Kevin Campbell: Relegation not on the agenda for Everton despite shocking form

We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…

Kevin Campbell has insisted that relegation won’t be an issue for Everton despite their shocking run of form.

The ex-Toffees talisman admitted that despite the “precarious” position in the Premier League, the Blues have a good enough squad to get out of trouble.

Everton are currently sitting 16th, four points from safety and are no closer to finding their new manager.

“I understand the precarious position in the league, but no, I don’t think relegation is going to be top of the agenda,” he exclusively told Goodison News.

“You look at Everton’s squad and they’ve got a decent squad, they should be nowhere near where they are.

“But, the fact of the matter is, it hasn’t worked out, whether they like the manager or didn’t like them. It’s time to get this team and football club going now.”

No team are too good to go down, but it would be a real disaster if it was to happen this season for the Toffees.

Upcoming games against Newcastle and Leeds are huge, with wins in both of them all-but-sealing our status for next season.

One thing guaranteed is that the fans will be out in force, now it is time for the players to harness that and put into their performances.
