Frank Lampard still in running for Everton job, announcement expected in 24/48 hours
Vitor Pereira is favourite to be appointed Everton manager following further talks, but a final decision is yet to be made, with Frank Lampard still a possibility, according to Sky Sports.
An announcement is expected in the next 24-48 hours as the Goodison Park outfit look to bring in a replacement for Rafa Benitez.
Pereira is in England to hold face to face talks with the Toffees, but Lampard, 43, remains in contention, and it will be interesting to see who wins the race for the position.
Two-horse battle
It appears Everton have narrowed their list down to the Portuguese and the former Chelsea boss, and a decision is expected very soon.
While Lampard has garnered some experience working at Derby County and his old club, whether he has what it takes to take the Blues to the next level remains to be seen.

He was sacked at Stamford Bridge and would have surely learnt from his mistakes, but Pereira surely has a more impressive C.V and has actually won things.
The 53-year-old has managed nine different teams since his first job in 2004, and he has eight winners medals to his name across three clubs.
The former Porto boss is not very popular, and that makes him less appealing to Everton fans that remain skeptical of Farhad Moshiri’s ability of getting such a huge decision right, but he could be the answer to their woes.
Pereira won two titles with Porto, one with Olympiacos and another with Shanghai SIPG, and he could make miracles happen at Goodison Park with such wealth of experience.
Nevertheless, Everton need to get this decision right, and as some of their past managers have proved, winning silverware elsewhere does not always guarantee success on Merseyside.
