Kevin Campbell reacts as ‘Crazy’ Vitor Pereira closes in on Everton job this week
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell has questioned whether Vitor Pereira will understand the magnitude of Everton as he closes in on the job.
The ex-Toffees talisman labelled Pereira’s resume as “Crazy” and believes that going down the foreign manager route has been tried and failed too many times at Goodison Park.
The Mirror have reported in the past 24 hours that the Portuguese coach has emerged as Farhad Moshiri’s preferred candidate in a controversial move.

“He hasn’t (managed in elite European leagues),” he exclusively told Goodison News.
“Going down another foreign manager route, I don’t know if it will work or not, I’ve looked at his resume and he’s had more clubs, it’s been crazy.
“By all intensive purposes, he’s a very capable manager, but for me, him coming in, does he get it? Does he get the club?
“You’ve got Dunc there at the moment, I just think, it may be staring Everton right in the face what they should be doing.
“Going for foreign managers, it works for some clubs, but it doesn’t work for them all – maybe it’s just not Everton’s way, look how many times they’ve tried it, too many.”

With the announcement looking as though it is imminent, there could be even more complaints and protests in the weeks to come.
Graffiti with “Pereira Out” has already been sprayed out at Goodison Park, with this decision bound to cause outrage.
Moshiri is a contrasting figure at the best of times, but it looks as though he is casting more people against him, rather than getting them onside at this moment in time.
In other Everton news, Alan Myers has shared if new Farhad Moshiri cash injection helps with FFP restrictions at the club
