Alan Myers names date as Everton manager appointment nears
Alan Myers has shared that Everton won’t be announcing their new manager before the end of play on Thursday.
The Sky Sports journalist has named Sunday as a likely day for the major news, with talks continuing.
Scenes have turned toxic at Goodison Park this week, with Vitor Pereira’s name in the running not pleasing many in Merseyside.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Myers responded to a fan’s question as the appointment appears imminent.
“I don’t see anything today,” he wrote.
“But, I think by Sunday there will be a new person in charge.”
Sunday, it is.
It looks as though it is between Pereira and Frank Lampard.
Graffiti appeared at Goodison Park this week as clamours appeared for the former Chelsea man over the controversial Portuguese figure.
Farhad Moshiri has somewhat taken his time with this decision, but it doesn’t look as though he is ready to please many despite that.
Duncan Ferguson was in charge for the Aston Villa defeat, and that may be his only chance that has already passed by.
Given how bad things have gone in recent years, this is one of the biggest decisions that Moshiri will ever make.
It is time for the owner to eradicate his mistakes, and it looks as though Lampard is the clear choice given his knowledge of the Premier League and his ability to bring youth through.
We are close to that decision.
