Simon Jordan points finger at Farhad Moshiri over Bill Kenwright amid Everton mess

Farhad Moshiri is the man who should take the blame for the mess at Everton, not Bill Kenwright, because he has the money, says Simon Jordan.

Following protests against the chairman after last weekend’s defeat to Aston Villa, former Crystal Palace chairman has pointed the finger at the Toffees owner, calling him “Johnny Splattercash”.

Speaking live on talkSPORT on Thursday (January 27, 10.15am) Jordan said: “The target of people’s ire is Bill Kenwright and I think that’s slightly unfair, not because Bill Kenwright’s my mate, because believe me and trust me… the person with the money makes the decisions.

“Moshiri’s the one with the money so he’s the one who’s worthy of people’s distaste.

“He’s earnt himself a monicker now, as an absentee landlord, as a Johnny Splattercash that doesn’t know what he’s doing.”

Protests again erupted last night outside Goodison Park following prospective manager Vitor Pereira’s interview on Sky Sports.

And the talkSPORT pundit reacted by suggesting the move was highly unwise, saying: “You’ll never be surprised by the length and breadth of the stupidity of what certain football people think is the right thing to do.

“He may have eliminated himself,” he added, because of the doubts it raises over his judgement.

“If you’re not sensible before you get in the door, what are you going to be like when you actually get in the door?

On the sight of more protests Jordan noted that: “The temperature of English football… is very very near the knuckle.”

Circus at Everton

The fans at Goodison are furious with each step the owner makes currently, and their frustration continues to boil over at any target that wanders into the firing line.

The manager hunt was bad enough when candidates continued to be named without it going anywhere, but with the former Porto boss apparently trying to take control of his own narrative things have only got worse.

It presumably will not have amused Moshiri, who it certainly appears likes to be in control of events judging by his steadfast refusal to try to appease the fans at all, despite the Portuguese apparently holding a special status with the owner.

Everton

The fans don’t want him anyway and set about expressing their preference for Frank Lampard last night, with graffiti previously pictured demanding “Pereira Out Lampard In” (Daily Mail).

But, while Kenwright bore the brunt of the anger last weekend, and Pereira has this week, it seems that the man in ultimate charge is unmoved.

In other Everton news, this candidate is reportedly set for further talks about the job.
