Anthony Barry has held positive talks with Everton, Frank Lampard wants him
Frank Lampard is set to be appointed as the next Everton boss, and the announcement could be made shortly.
According to The Athletic journalist, Simon Johnson, Anthony Barry could join Lampard in the coaching role.
Lampard “really wants” him to move to Everton from Chelsea, and the 35-year-old has held positive talks with the Toffees.

Johnson wrote on Twitter: “I’m hearing Chelsea assistant coach Anthony Barry has held positive talks with Everton. Attended Tranmere v Forest Green yesterday but was not (the) main purpose of the trip. Lampard really wants him. Source describes (the) situation as a win-win whether he stays or goes.”
Big 24 hrs
Barry would be a fantastic addition to the backroom staff, and it will signal a clean slate and a new era under Lampard.
Assuming that the Toffees will sort out the deals at the earliest today, Lampard will get at least 24 hours to bring some players to the club.
If the widespread reports are to be believed, Everton are close to sealing a loan move for Donny van de Beek from Manchester United [Fabrizio Romano], although there’s no obligation to sign him permanently.

Lampard will be looking to add midfielders before Monday’s deadline, and the club are trying to secure moves for Dele Alli and Ruben Loftus-Cheek as well [Mirror, 30 January, page 73].
It will be interesting to see how Everton can manage to pull out so many deals within such a short time.
On the flip side, these players will be hungry to move elsewhere and play regularly, and therefore Everton have a good chance here in getting them.
In other Everton news, this player has opted to join the Blues.
