Everton have discussed signing Ross Barkley before Monday’s deadline
Everton are expected to confirm the signing of Frank Lampard as their next boss in the next 24 hours.
It seems, he has already started making plans for the deadline day with the Toffees needing to bolster their midfield.
According to reports from The Mail on Sunday [30 January, [page 151], Lampard is eyeing a reunion with Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley who is currently out of favour at Stamford Bridge.
The former Chelsea manager is also eyeing a reunion with Ruben Loftus-Cheek and has targeted Manchester United midfielder, Donny van de Beek, as well.
The report claims that both Loftus-Cheek and Barkley have come under discussion.

If Barkley makes a return to where it all started for him, it will generate sentimental attention and could get the fans excited.
Everton fans are well aware of his qualities. He has managed 33 caps for his country and also played in the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
However, not only has he drifted out of the picture of the England national team but he is also seen as a surplus to requirements at Chelsea.
He has struggled with injuries in recent years, and it seems his career is stuck in limbo.
Lampard is probably hoping that a switch could push him in the fresh direction and he can revive his form. With more confidence, he can get better.
Everton are currently 16th in the Premiership table, and Lampard is taking a side whose primary aim should be to finish in the top half of the table.
Barkley could be a smart signing but there are lots of ifs and buts here.
