Frank Lampard gets 2.5 year deal at Everton, taking training on Monday
Frank Lampard has signed on to be the new Everton manager on a two-and-a-half year deal and is expected to take training on Monday, reports David Maddock.
The new boss was expected to be confirmed today and has made preferences known for the end of the transfer window.
Mirror journalist David Maddock wrote on his personal Twitter account on Sunday evening: “BREAKING: Frank Lampard has agreed 21/2 year contract with Everton after completing negotiations today.
“Lampard on way to Merseyside to be in place to take training on Monday.”
Additionally, the new man looks set to name his assistant manager as former Derby manager Paul Clement, as Anthony Barry appears not to be possible to bring from Chelsea where he is valued by Thomas Tuchel, but Joe Edwards is set to arrive, report The Liverpool Echo.
Finally have their man
It is the news that the blue half of Merseyside has been waiting for, that finally they have got a new manager in place.
The painful progress of the two-week hunt for Rafael Benitez’s replacement is over, and the new boss can at last get down to the important business of improving a Toffees side in disarray.
Fans will be on the look out for a new manager bounce as the team needs points and it needs them fast.

The news that Lampard is on his way to take training on Monday at Finch Farm will turn attentions to the playing style the former Chelsea boss wishes to implement.
His sides have a reputation for being good in attack but leaving themselves open to a counter-attack.
A lack of protection against quick transitions has seen his defensive record come under scrutiny, which was put in stark comparison to his successor at Stamford Bridge when Thomas Tuchel came in and oversaw a run of clean sheets.
But with Donny van de Beek apparently already on his way into Goodison, things are changing, and everyone involved in the club will hope they are changing for the better finally.
In other Everton news, positive talks were reportedly held with this mooted member of the backroom staff.
