Frank Lampard has signed deal to be Everton boss, pictured with agents

The search for the next Everton manager may have finally come to an end with Frank Lampard having signed a contract with the club, according to Jason Burt, The Telegraph.

Lampard was one of three managers who were interviewed for a second time with Vitor Pereira and Duncan Ferguson also initially in the running.

Farhad Moshiri and Bill Kenwright have seemingly made up their mind though as Lampard was pictured having just put pen to paper in London.

Burt tweeted a picture of Lampard with agents Leon Angel and Frank Trimboli after having signed the deal, saying: “BREAKING: Frank Lampard has just signed his contract to be Everton manager. Pictured here with agents Leon Angel and Frank Trimboli.”

Finally, the saga is over

This has gone on long enough but finally, Everton fans have a permanent manager they can get fully behind as they bid to stay away from relegation.

Ferguson and Pereira would have only taken the job until the end of the season and that wouldn’t have helped the club’s dire situation much but Lampard is different.

He is the kind of manager who wants to be at a club for a long time and build something special which he can with the Toffees.

His first signing as Everton boss may already be on the verge of completion with Donny van de Beek rumoured to have chosen Goodison Park over Crystal Palace on a six-month loan deal.

He will undoubtedly ask his close contacts at Chelsea if any of their players could do with a move as Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ross Barkley have been touted with Merseyside moves.

But the future of the manager’s role at the club may have finally been sorted and the whole club can now get behind Lampard and help to push the Toffees back to where they belong.

In other Everton news, Lampard may have already blocked a move for one of the Toffees’ star players before 31 January.
