Van de Beek decides to join Everton on loan on Sunday morning – David Ornstein

Donny van de Beek has this morning decided he wants to sign on loan from Everton for the rest of the season, according to David Ornstein.

Writing via his personal Twitter account on 30 January, The Athletic journalist has reported that van de Beek, 24, is closing in on a move to Goodison Park after Everton agreed a loan deal with van de Beek yesterday (Saturday).

Ornstein writes that van de Beek made his decision “this morning” amid interest from elsewhere in Crystal Palace.

Adding on The Athletic website, Ornstein claims that the Blues will pay the full whack of the Netherlands midfielder’s wages while he’s on loan on Merseyside.

It now seems as though it’s only a matter of time before van de Beek is officially signed on loan at Everton.

Frank Lampard’s reportedly closing in on becoming the new manager at Goodison Park and after talks in London on Friday, there’s a good chance the ex-Chelsea boss sanctioned a move for the Manchester United outcast.

Van de Beek has had a tough time at Old Trafford but he’s so much better than just a benchwarmer.

Everton

We really feel he could be one of the best central midfielders in the Premier League if he’s handed enough chances after doing so well in his time at Ajax.

Van de Beek is someone who Marcel Brands reportedly wanted at Goodison and the former director of football did make some blunders in his time at the club.

But in this case, we hope that his blunder was not signing van de Beek.

This really is a strong signing in our opinion and should the loan go well, a permanent deal could happen in the summer.
