Loftus-Cheek, either on loan or permanent, would be a cracking signing for the Toffees.

The 26-year-old has progressed through the youth ranks at the club, and has made over 100 appearances for the Blues.

He has also played for Fulham and Crystal Palace on loan.

Capable of playing as an attacking midfielder and a central midfielder, he has got very good technique and ball control.

When he was at Fulham, Lampard said (2021) about him [The Guardian]:

“He felt he needed games and maybe he could get regular games elsewhere.

“Seeing him play recently, I see him looking fit, fresh and strong. We know he’s an obvious talent so it’s great.”

This season he has made 20 appearances already for the Blues, including 12 in the Premier League, and Thomas Tuchel could be reluctant to lose him.

However, if Lampard can lure him to Goodison Park, Everton can seal a transfer masterstroke here.

The midfield is one area that seriously needs bolstering. Abdoulaye Doucoure and Tom Davies are expected to be out for a while.

Andre Gomes has struggled with injuries and has only returned to action recently. Fabian Delph is another player who has struggled with injuries and clearly his time is up.

In such a scenario, a versatile, technically gifted and experienced Premier League midfielder would make a big difference to the side.

Lampard will hope that he can persuade his former club to allow the player to join him at his new club.

In other Everton news, the new manager could reportedly look to bring in this PL star.
