Everton agree deal with Tottenham Hotspur for Dele Alli

Everton have reached an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur over signing Dele Alli on transfer deadline day, per Fabrizio Romano.

According to Sky Sports, the Toffees looked at a permanent deal as they cannot make any more Premier League loans this month.

Daily Star have reported that the player is keen on a move away from Spurs in order for regular playing time.

Via his personal Twitter account, Romano wrote, “Dele Alli to Everton, done deal and here we go! Full agreement reached with Tottenham, permanent move subject to medical in the next few hours. It’s done.

“Frank Lampard wanted Dele after van de Beek – official announcement later today.”

Sign him

There are hints of this being a panic move for the Toffees, but it has really been a weird month for them.

Rafa Benitez appeared to finally be backed in the transfer market when he sanctioned three incomings and the sale of Lucas Digne.

However, the club parted ways with him midway through the transfer window and until Donny van de Beek’s arrival, nothing had materialised.

Since Frank Lampard was decided as the next boss, things are progressing and Alli could be one he is pushing for.

He’s got similarities to how Lampard was during his heyday and it would be good to see the England international thrive at Goodison Park.

It remains to be seen if the two clubs can agree to a fee this late in the window.
