Everton target Aaron Ramsey set for Rangers switch
Everton have reportedly missed out on the services of Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey with him set to join Rangers on loan.
According to 90Min’s Graeme Bailey, the Toffees looked at signing the former Arsenal midfielder earlier this month.
However, a deal for him could not materialise and he’s now set to move north of the border to the defending SPFL champions.
Via his personal Twitter account, Bailey wrote, “Looks like Rangers set to win race for Aaron Ramsey – deal close with Juventus to take the Wales star to Ibrox. Wolves had asked this week, whilst Crystal Palace, Everton and Newcastle also looked earlier in the month.”
Bullet dodged
Ramsey has only been signed based on his name recognition and not the player he is today.
If he was that good, Juventus would not have been so desperate to let him go.
His move to the Old Lady did not materialise as many thought it would and he’s now set for a new challenge.

The level of competition in Scotland is nothing compared to the Premier League so he might do well.
In case that happens, it should not turn into a case of ‘What if?’ for the Toffees as Ramsey was destined to struggle if he returned to the Premier League.
A player once labelled “outstanding” is clearly a shadow of that term now and Everton are better suited to players like Dele Alli and Donny van de Beek.
In other Everton news, the club have made an approach to sign an English attacker before the window closes.
