Everton to pay £10m for Spurs attacker Dele Alli once he plays 20 games
Everton are set to complete the signing of Tottenham Hotspur attacking midfielder Dele Alli, according to Matt Law.
The Telegraph journalist has reported that the Toffees will pay £10million to Spurs once he plays 20 games for them.
He is set to join on a two-and-a-half-year deal with the move expected to be official soon.
Law wrote, via his personal Twitter account, “Dele Alli move to Everton from Tottenham agreed. Set to be an initial free transfer with Everton paying £10m once he has played 20 games. Two and a half year deal.”
Smart business
Alli is unlikely to play 20 games this season as he has been cup tied and there aren’t that many games left in the league.
This means that the transfer fee will be shown in next year’s budget and that would be a good way to circumnavigate FFP rules.
Everton have had plenty of issues with FFP in the past and this is some smart business shown by the club hierarchy.

Even normally, spending that kind of money on someone like Alli would be seen as a wise decision.
Frank Lampard would be the ideal manager to get a tune out of the Spurs player and he could show the same kind of form he did under Mauricio Pochettino.
It’s interesting to see how the boss uses Donny van de Beek as well as Alli in the same team.
