Jamie O’Hara outlines major Dele Alli problem for Everton
Jamie O’Hara has come to the defence of new Everton star Dele Alli, saying the midfielder is not ‘deadwood’ whilst outlining a major problem for the midfielder.
The former Spurs ace still has hope for the 25-year-old after rapidly falling out of favour in north London over the past few seasons.
O’Hara has claimed the issue for Alli is his consistency but thinks Frank Lampard could be the right man to ‘resurrect’ his career.

“Dele Alli is not deadwood, he has had a fantastic career at the football club,” O’Hara said on Sky Sports, as per Football Daily.
“In the last few seasons, it’s just not worked out for him, he just hasn’t been the same Dele Alli that we saw burst onto the scene, and I think this is a brilliant move for him, for Lampard, for Everton and it works for Spurs.
“It allows him to go and play his football and I watched him against Liverpool not so long ago; Antonio Conte started him, and I thought he was absolutely fantastic.
“The problem with him is his consistency, he doesn’t do it week in week out so a manager can’t trust him.”
New beginning
Alli has struggled massively for consistency for a long time at Tottenham but that shouldn’t be a direct comparison to the 25-year-old.
The whole squad has declined since the departure of Mauricio Pochettino left the club several years ago.
Alli is an attacking player who loves to express himself on the pitch and Spurs’ last few managers in Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo and now Antonio Conte hasn’t exactly played in a way that suits his style.
He has been held back by tactical setups and defensive-minded managers which is hopefully due to change when he links up with Frank Lampard.
It might be hard, to begin with, but Lampard likes to play positive football and get at the opposition which will suit Dele perfectly.
The pair are very similar as players and have both spoken extremely highly about one another. Hopefully, they can form a relationship that not only gets the midfielder to top form but the Toffees also.
