Simon Jordan takes aim at Everton for signing Dele Alli and Donny van de Beek
Simon Jordan has savaged Everton for their business in the closing stages of the January transfer window.
Frank Lampard was able to make two additions to the Toffees midfield as manager before the window closed at 11pm last night (January 31).
The TalkSPORT pundit was completely unimpressed with the signings, calling Dele Alli and Donny van de Beek ‘runts’.

“I think it’s a shocking indictment of how far Dele Alli has disappeared down a rabbit hole of opportunities.” Jordan said on TalkSPORT.
“It’s a day late and a dollar short for his career, I don’t think he’s going to cover what he had before unless there is a huge sea change.”
He added: “Frank [Lampard] maybe was given very few options and he just felt like he need some extra new bodies in the building because he has got two runts of the proverbial litter
“He’s got Man United saying that Donny van de Beek is a pup because we can’t find anywhere to play him – or ever play him – and you’ve got Dele Alli who has gone through a mincer.”
Still time left
Admittedly, the pair have been out of favour at their respective clubs but to call them runts is quite harsh.
Van de Beek has been signed by a Manchester United outfit that has absolutely no direction. He was brought into the squad without even being needed and that has hindered his career.
Him not playing has absolutely nothing to do with the player himself or whether he is good enough or not; he simply hasn’t been given enough of a chance at Old Trafford which is why he is coming to Everton.

He has more than shown what he is capable of in the Champions league and Eredivisie over several years, not just a one-off season.
The slack is a little more justified for Alli but with that being said he is far from a runt.
He has fallen out of favour at, again, a Tottenham outfit with no direction and has felt the brunt of some poor managerial appointments.
It is, though, one of the last opportunities to salvage his career and there is no better place to do it than under an attacking manager in Frank Lampard at Everton.
Both players are still young and have many years ahead of them so comments like Jordan’s seem very wide of the mark at present.
