Frank Lampard shares what he expects from Everton duo

Everton signed two players – Dele Alli and Donny van de Beek – on transfer deadline day to wrap up a productive window.

Rafa Benitez signed Nathan Patterson and Vitaliy Mykolenko on permanent deals while Anwar El Ghazi joined on loan from Aston Villa in January.

Frank Lampard has shared what he expects from his own signings.

The former Chelsea boss has suggested that both the players are “versatile”, and they have a point to prove.

He said as noted by Liverpool Echo journalist, Christopher Beesley: “Dele and Donny very different cases. Sometimes it’s good to get a player with a point to prove. They’ve got the hunger.”

Lampard further added on Alli: “A fresh slate for Dele Alli but also to push him to extract what’s there. I just have to find the right environment for him. I’m very excited to have him and Donny.

“Alli is a versatile player who can get involved in build-up play. It’s nice to manage someone who occupies similar areas of the field to myself.”

Fresh start

Lampard is absolutely spot on about Alli.

The England international has regressed in recent seasons, but he can reignite his career at Goodison Park.

Alli probably needed a change in environment. At Spurs, Mauricio Pochettino trusted in his potential and got the best out of him.

Lampard is hoping that he can do the same with him.

Everton

He is a versatile player who loves to play behind the striker. He runs into channels, arrives late into the box, picks intelligent passes to forwards and has an eye for goal.

Certainly, Everton fans can expect that Lampard can get the best out of him given as a player he used to perform similar roles.

As for Van de Beek is concerned, the Dutchman will bring a different quality. He is an expert in link-up plays, something Everton don’t have at the moment.

Everton have gone through a wretched run of form, and Lampard faces an uphill task to turn the situation around.

In other Everton news, the club are reportedly working to sign this European legend.
