Everton ‘getting their hopes up’ about signing Thomas Muller – report
Everton are ‘getting their hopes up’ about signing Thomas Muller this summer, according to BILD journalist Christian Falk.
The Toffees have been linked with a shock move for the World Cup-winning attacking midfielder [BILD], whose current contract at Bayern Munich is scheduled to expire in 2023.
That means he will have just one year left on his deal in the summer and at 32-years-old there is some doubt about Bayern’s plans for him.

According to Falk in his Bayern Insider podcast, Bayern Munich ‘need to get a move on’ if they’re going to offer Muller fresh terms to keep him at the Allianz Arena with Everton one of the clubs looking towards bringing him in.
While Falk also states that he doesn’t think that will happen, the chances grow with every day that passes where Bayern don’t tie him down to fresh terms.
Superstar
Muller joining Everton would be one of the most incredible transfer stories in recent memory.
The Germany international is a world-class forward, who has made that position just behind the striker his own in the most successful Bundesliga team of all time.

He has won 10 Bundesliga titles, two Champions League titles, six DFB-Pokal Cups and the World Cup among his trophies as a player and would bring an aura and winning mentality not seen in this millennium at Goodison.
It’s definitely somewhat of a pipe dream for Blues fans right now, but considering the club just saw Frank Lampard replace Rafa Benitez as manager nothing can be ruled out.
It seems Everton feel like they have a genuine chance of getting this done, but Bayern will surely not let one of their greatest ever players leave when he’s still operating a world-class level.
Time will tell.
