Jeff Stelling predicts Everton clash v Brentford, Neil Mellor agrees

Jeff Stelling has backed Everton to beat Brentford in the FA Cup as Frank Lampard starts his Toffees career.

The Sky Sports host has predicted that it will finish 3-1 to the Blues, as they look to set on their way towards silverware.

Lampard will be without Dominic Calvert-Lewin for this clash, though, with the striker injured yet again.

Sharing his prediction for Sky Sports Super 6 before the weekend, Stelling backed Lampard to get off to the perfect start.

Neil Mellor also agreed with Stelling but predicted it to be a closer affair at Goodison Park, finishing 2-1 to the home side.

Perfect.

Lampard will be going through so many different scenarios in his head right now ahead of his first game at Goodison.

There is no doubt that the stands will be rammed with no empty seat, and the atmosphere will be absolutely rocking in Merseyside.

Brentford won’t be phased by that, though, and it promises to be an all-out attacking war as both sides look to progress in the FA Cup.

This is the perfect first game, as it will get rid of the nerves ahead of two huge Premier League clashes against Newcastle and Leeds.

Getting the win over Brentford will set us up perfectly for those two, with wins over both of those instantly making us safer in the league.

This is it, our first game is almost here.
