Everton ‘have to be worried’ about relegation according to Leon Osman
Everton suffered a fourth straight Premier League defeat against Newcastle United on Tuesday (8 February) to drop closer to the dreaded relegation zone.
An own goal from Mason Holgate along with Ryan Fraser and Kieran Trippier strikes sunk Frank Lampard’s Toffees and it has got former Everton player Leon Osman worried.
The Goodison Park icon spoke on the BBC’s Football Daily Podcast about Everton’s season and could not hide his peril at dropping out of the Premier League.

“To be honest, I’d rather not even talk about it, You have to be worried (about relegation) when your team is playing as poorly as Everton are,” Osman said.
Hold off on the panic button
This is the time for a clear head because there is still a lot of football to be played this season.
Lampard had the unfortunate scenario of two first-half injuries at St. James’ Park which highly restricted his ability to make alterations and the Magpies took full advantage.

Neither Dele Alli nor Donny van de Beek were able to light up the pitch as they came off the bench for their Everton debuts and they went out without a whimper in the end.
A lack of midfield control severely hampered the Toffees’ ability to stifle Newcastle’s main threats and they paid the price for it,
But there are still 17 games to be played and they’re still three points clear of the drop at the moment, things could be a lot worse.
Lampard should have this squad unified and playing good football again fairly soon and they can then begin to look up rather than down the Premier League table.
Having said that, the upturn needs to come soon with Leeds visiting Merseyside on Saturday (12th February) also desperate for points.
In other Everton news, Don Hutchinson has been raving about this Toffee despite the 3-1 defeat on Tuesday.
