Everton boss Frank Lampard calls for unity at Goodison Park
Frank Lampard has called on the Everton players to ‘engage’ with the fans at Goodison Park.
The Blues won his first game in charge emphatically but fell way short of fellow relegation strugglers Newcastle at St James’ Park on Tuesday (February 8).
Lampard emphasised the importance of unity at the club as he looks to turn the Toffees’ underwhelming form around.

“It’s important for the players to engage the fans,” Lampard told evertontv.
“They will be there to back us. They understand the position we’re in and they know we need them.
“The players have to perform with the same attitude and approach as they did against Brentford at Goodison. I’m confident they will.
“It will be a tough match. It’s still early days for us as a group and we will work hard to put the Newcastle result right.”
Unity
The Newcastle result needs putting right for sure and sooner rather than later with Leeds on the horizon.

The result can’t be blamed on Lampard with his very short time in charge at Finch Farm, but the players must take more responsibility.
They looked bewildered by the magnitude of the game against Newcastle with the Toon players and fans well up for the relegation dogfight.
Seeing the unity between players and fans almost carry Newcastle to victory has definitely allowed the former Chelsea boss to see just how bad the atmosphere is at the club.
Understandably so the atmosphere at the club has been very bad but under a new manager that has to change.
The fans were the difference in midweek, and everyone knows Everton fans are some of – if not – the best in the country and they need to remind everyone that.
Goodison Park used to be an absolute fortress that teams would hate to come to, it needs to return to that.
In other Blues news, Everton should have gone for Wayne Rooney as manager – Louis Saha.
